MY NATIONAL NETWORK DEBUT *AND* iTUNES CHART DEBUT!
(May 2, 2011)

Hey guys! By now I think many of you have heard that I recently auditioned for a television show on NBC called “The Voice.” If you haven’t, I’ll post the link below so you can check it out.  I’m really excited to report that Universal Republic Records has released a full-length recording of my arrangement of Nirvana’s ‘Come As You Are,’ as I sang it on the show, and within 24 hours the single had cracked the Top 10 of the iTunes Alternative chart and the Top 120 of the iTunes Singles chart (peaking at #7 and #117, respectively).  Pretty exciting stuff!

Here are some links for you to check out:

I AUDITIONED FOR THE VOICE! (NOPE, YOU’RE NOT CRAZY)
(April, 2011)

Hey folks! I’ve been getting calls all week from folks swearing that they caught a glimpse of me on the boob tube, so I’m writing to confirm that no, you’re not hallucinating, it was me! Last month I flew in an iron bird out to Los Angeles to audition for NBC’s new singin’ show The Voice.  In this new show a whole bunch of singers audition for coaches Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.  CLICK HERE to see an interview with Adam Levine in which he discusses his perspective on the show/catch a glimpse of me around the 1:00 mark :-). I had a wonderful time, and you can tune in on Tuesday, April 26th to see how it went! That’s Tuesday, 4/26 at 9 EST/8 CST on NBC!

THE ZOMBIES ARE COMING!
(March 23, 2011)

As some of you know, at the beginning of this month I was lucky enough to spend a glorious weekend in Atlanta shooting my first-ever music video with an all-star guerilla production crew!  The song featured in the video ‘The Bees,’ is a protest showtune about the disappearing bee crisis as it relates to the upcoming zombie apocalypse, and appears on my new EP “Bees & Zombies.” The video is VERY close to completion, and I can’t wait to share it with you! In the meantime, hop on over to the blog to read a bit more about the filmmaking process.  We had a blast!

ps: I’m just back from a fun and successful 4-day weekend at the International Folk Alliance Conference in Memphis, TN, where several thousand of my favorite troubadors squeeze into the fanciest hotel any of us get to stay in all year long and sing songs to each other til we’re bleary-eyed and hoarse… It’s great fun. Thanks to all the amazing musicians I got to spend time with over the weekend, old and new friends alike.  My mind was blown, repeatedly. xoxo

“BEES & ZOMBIES” CD RELEASE/TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED!
(January 28, 2011)

Happy New Year to ya! Hope twentyeleven is treating you well so far.  I’m very excited to announce that I’ll be releasing a B-sides EP called “Bees & Zombies” in a little under a month!  B&Z will feature 7 tracks: a few tunes orphaned by last year’s full length “Mystery Prize,” as well as the first studio demo of that tune, the winning remixes from last spring’s “Land & Sea-mix” competition and an original protest showtune about the disappearing bee crisis as it relates to the oncoming zombie apocalypse.  The album is at the printers as I speak, being transformed from a series of 0’s and 1’s into a physical plastic disc that I would just love to put in your hand.  I’ll be playing some CD Release shows on the East Coast this spring, and I’d love to sing for you at one of them.  Check out the calendar page to see when I’ll be closest to you.  Hope our paths cross soon, and often. xoxo ~becca

AMERICANA TOP 100 ALBUMS OF THE YEAR!
(December 14, 2010)

I just heard from Lisa Grey, my wonderful radio promoter, that “Mystery Prize” has made the Americana Top 100 Albums of 2010 list, coming in at a respectable #89!  Many favorite bands and songwriting heroes of mine are also honored, and it’s really thrilling for me to be in their company (The Avett Brothers, Patty Griffin, Lyle Lovett, Ray LaMontagne, Mary Gauthier, Matt The Electrician, Crooked Still and Martin Sexton are just a few of the other names on the list).  Big thanks to all the DJs who have supported the record and everyone, everywhere who supports independent artists!! Click here to check out the whole list.  xoxo
